Olczyk to Call NHL on NBC

by Andrew Marchand, New York Post

With John Davidson becoming the president of the St. Louis Blues, NBC Sports plans to announce that Eddie Olczyk will be the new lead game analyst for its NHL coverage.

Olczyk, who was a member of the Rangers’ 1994 Stanley Cup winners, was a potential candidate to replace Davidson on MSG Network as well, but he has signed on to analyze Chicago Blackhawks games. MSG may move Dave Maloney over from radio to TV.

Olczyk will work the regualr season, playoffs and the Stanley Cup Finals with Mike (Doc) Emrick.

Emrick and Davidson were OLN’s lead game broadcasters as well, so it wouldn’t be surprising if Olczyk- who worked the studio for OLN- also takes that job.

Last year, Olczyk was one of NBC’s studio analysts.
