Hall of Fame Inductee
Lindsey Nelson

"The most honest and beautiful man I ever met...
for years Lindsey Nelson's voice was synonymous with college football in America...
when you heard Lindsey's voice, you knew football season was here."
-Paul Hornung

The late Lindsey Nelson's distinguished career spanned more than thirty-five years, from his early days as a University of Tennessee student spotter for Hall of Fame sportscaster Bill Stern, to more than three decades as a premier broadcaster for CBS, NBC and WTBS.

Among Mr. Nelson's credits are seventeen years with the New York Mets, and three with the San Francisco Giants; for thirty-three years, Nelson covered college football, including twenty-six Cotton Bowls, five Sugar Bowls, four Rose Bowls and fourteen years announcing Notre Dame games.

Mention Lindsey Nelson's name and fans remember a talented broadcaster, an expert storyteller, and a true sports enthusiast. From his colorful jackets, to his equally colorful broadcasts, Lindsey has established himself as one of the industry's leading sportscasters.
