ASA Members Harmon, Lucas and Ortegel Featured in Jerry Bruckheimer Film, "Glory Road"

ASA members Merle Harmon, formerly of NBC Sports; Greg Lucas of Fox Sports Net; and Bob Ortegel, color commentator for the Dallas Mavericks, were cast at the recommendation of ASA President Lou Schwartz as sportscasters in the new Jerry Bruckheimer motion picture, "Glory Road," starring Jon Voight and Josh Lucas, and scheduled to open March 2005.

The movie was inspired by the events of the 1966 NCAA Basketball Tournament. An unheralded team from Texas (Texas Western), led by coach Don Haskins, recruited seven black athletes and put together a team that won the 1966 National Championship, beating Adolph Rupp's Kentucky team in the finals, and changed the face of college basketball forever.

"We are delighted and honored that Glory Road Productions approached us for assistance in casting the appropriate sportscasters for this feature film," Schwartz said.
