HBO's Collinsworth, Gumbel in NFL Booth

The NFL Network has dipped into the ranks of HBO Sports for voices for its new eight-week late-season package.

Industry spies say Cris Collinsworth and Bryant Gumbel have reached agreements in principle to become the NFL Network broadcast team.

Collinsworth, a cast member on HBO’s “Inside the NFL” who will appear on NBC’s NFL studio show, will handle the analyst chores. Gumbel, host of “Real Sports,” will do the play-by-play.

For Collinsworth, the move marks the return to the broadcast booth. He sat out last season after leaving Fox’s No. 1 team to sign with NBC. Gumbel has limited play-by-play experience, but once hosted NBC’s NFL pregame show.
