Al Michaels Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award at the 32nd Annual Sports Emmy Awards

May 3, 2011 - Al Michaels, ASA Member and play-by-play voice of NBC’s “Sunday Night Football, received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of TV Arts & Sciences at their 32 Annual Sports Emmy Awards on May 2 in New York City.ASA President Lou Schwartz was in attendance at the event.

Michaels, who was given the ASA’s Sportscaster of the Year Award in 1995, has covered more maojor sports events than any other sportscaster, incluidng 20 years on ABC’s “Monday Night Football.”

Taking home Emmy Awards were ASA members Bob Costas (Studio Host) and Cris Collinsworth (Event Analyst), as well as Mike Emrick (Play-by-Play), and Kirk Herbstreit (Studio Analyst).
